ABOUT

Troon Art Club was founded just after WW2 in 1949. The catalogue of their first exhibition, held in the Malvern Tea Rooms, shows the name of the founder members including Charles Summers and Albert Duffus. The group met originally in the British Legion Clubrooms every Wednesday evening throughout the winter and subscription was five shillings. By the time the club held their seventh exhibition the number of members had doubled. Over the years the club has gone from strength to strength and membership numbers now stands at around one hundred.

OUR VALUES

The club meets on a regular basis to advance the arts in Ayrshire. We aim to:

  • Share artistic knowledge, experiences and practices amongst members.

  • Explore the arts through art demonstrations, talks, lectures and work nights.

  • Promote the art of our members through regular exhibitions.

  • Encourage a welcoming atmosphere which is open to all.
