WENDY GREIG

What can I tell you, although I loved to paint when I was young I never got the opportunity to take it any further than higher grade.

I stopped painting when family life and being a mum took priority, and I probably wouldn't have started again if my daughter hadn't started the East Kilbride art club in 2016!

I subsequently joined the Troon art club and have been inspired by many professional and amateur artists to try different mediums and methods.

I originally painted with oils (which I still love) but over the past few years I have been predominantly using soft pastels, I love the tactile nature of them and the colours are so vibrant.

My favourite subject choice is portraiture, and as I draw freehand I always get a thrill when I manage to capture the likeness of the subject.
